So I've seen a few tweets about Power of the Daleks, speculating that its going to be officially animated. But then its said thats false, and the footage "leaked" is just old demos from years ago. But others say that the footage now does not match the old demo footage.
Recipe Book ****ers, I ask you: what the fuck is up with the Power of the Daleks? Should i get my hopes up?
So, some fans remade Power from scratch (live action), and that getting pulled from Youtube on a copyright beef after having been ignored for a long time has made some people speculate that an animation is in the works or the original has been found. That and a pretty good fan made animation with a manipulative title is going around.
I wouldn't dismiss this one so readily. It seems that the 'event' of the animation that was posted as 'leaked BBC' material is causing some ripples of concern in Who-Land. It was not anything that has been publicly seen before, and had a level of quality that looked superior to fan-made stuff. Some kind of 50th anniversary piece, maybe? That is at the end of this year.
Jon Pertwee vs Vincent Price. Who is the hero, and who the villain? This battle could cost the Earth!
Not sure if this is what Drac linked to as it has been taken down and re-uploaded on Youtube.
It does look very high quality. The odd thing is that if it was a fan project/animation studio wanting money/work, or just doing it for fun like Stuart Humphrey's colourisation work, then surely they would be happy to associate themselves with the praise it is getting?
So, anyone seen the first part of this yet and care to share a review? I'm over in Region One land so we have a while to wait.
I do hope that this is a huge success and we can get other classic stories animated. For instance, I'd love to see The Mutants done this way as the flat, two-dimensional animation would perfectly compliment Rick James' performance...

So, episode one appeared on Amazon last night. First impressions were that the animation was a little lifeless compared to some other examples and the five o'clock shadow and rapid eyemovements they give Trout makes him look like a devious sex offender.
The Craze and Wills drawings are serviceable and I did appreciate having the visuals (though this is one of my favorite stories anyway).
Lovely mutant scuttle at the end to have me eager for the next part.
So, can I have a fish person badge please? I know they are meant for reviews of The Underwater Menace but that would require me to watch it...

Draculasaurus: Part of it is the pace and editing. Fantastic.

Claude McLazarou: Yes, but who would win in a fight between Linnea Quigley and Debbie Rochon, though?

Claude McLazarou: When i say 'fight', i obviously mean wrestling in treacle.

Draculasaurus: Looks like there were three cloud car pilots arguing about who gets to go, and asshole Luke just gets in, and the one is like; "No fucking way, dude."

Josh: Lando: "Come on Luke, just let him drive." Luke: Shut up Lando! I'm not such a bad pilot...I don't have to sit here and listen to this." Guy in other pod: "Im not taking off while this one handed smartass is in the other pod."

Claude McLazarou: John Lando's best film was "Schlock".
