Dr. Who opened the TARDIS doors.
“Dr. Who! How good it is to see you!” said Gomez, greeting him.
“Gomez, my dear chap!” Doctor Who embraced his closest of all friends. “How is the family?”
“Frightful.” He picked up a decanter. “Something to drink?”
“No, please, I’m fine,” Doctor Who explained. “Just had lunch.”
“Tiny sandwiches?” Gomez snapped his fingers, and Thing emerged from a crevice, a small picnic sandwich in hand.
“I don’t understand how that’s physically possible.”
“What brings you to my abode?” The multi-billionaire enquired.
“I’m not the one who wanted to come,” Doctor Who said as Alpha Centauri emerged from his time and space ship.
“Where is Cousin Itt?” Centauri beckoned. “He skipped out on our lunch date!”
“Now, Centauri, do not get emotional,” Dr. Who calmed him. “Please fetch Itt, and get him to apologize for his reckless behavior.”
“Of course.” Gomez disappeared behind a doorway, returning in a short moment. “Lurch will bring him in just a few short moments.”
The silence was awkward as they waited far too long.
“How’s Lu Ping?” Gomez asked, Dr. Who solemnly looking out the window in a Remains of the Day moment. “Not well, I suppose.”
After three hours of waiting, Lurch arrived with Cousin Itt in tow. Itt explained that he had been in an important business meeting and simply could not leave. He apologized to Centauri and rescheduled their meal for another time with no hurt feelings, as they are the best of friends.
I look forward to the sequel story where all 38 doctors visit Gomez simultaneously, and he accidentally says something in French. Which of the many incarnations will leap on him and shower him with kisses? It'll be the cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers!
Jon Pertwee vs Vincent Price. Who is the hero, and who the villain? This battle could cost the Earth!
